It’s always tricky talking to cast members from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, because they have to keep so many secrets. Still, going into Season 3, we know a lot of changes are in store for Skye (Chloe Bennet), on the heels of the huge events that occurred for her in Season 2.

First and foremost, she’s not called Skye anymore – she’s going by her real name, Daisy Johnson (AKA Marvel comics’ Quake). Plus there’s the fact that she knows she’s an Inhuman and will be forming a new team of super-powered folks, which will introduce the Secret Warriors into the series.

At the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour this week, Bennet spoke to myself and other reporters about Skye, ahem, Daisy’s transformation and what to expect from the shifting character dynamics this year.

Question: How much can you tell us today?
Bennet: I can say I’ve been shooting all day and it’s been crazy. [Episode] 302 is definitely one of the biggest episodes we’ve ever done. It’ll be exciting this season, because there’s a lot of action, there’s a lot of CGI. There’s a lot of what makes SHIELD so big but at the same time, all the character dynamics have changed. I’m working with Mack a lot more – we’re partners this year so you’ll see a time jump and how we’re really comfortable around each other. It’s like Mulder and Scully. And she’s Daisy Johnson now!

Question: Is that weird for you?
Bennet: It actually isn’t as weird. I think the haircut and the new wardrobe [help].

Question: A new outfit? Maybe something black…?
Bennet: Something that’s very difficult to go to the bathroom in. They like to limit me from going to the bathroom as much as possible on the show. It’s a really cool outfit. I hope fans of Daisy Johnson and Quake are pretty happy with it because we tried to do a nice blend of TV version and comic book version.

“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is only up to filming episode 2 of Season 3, but already the cast has a lot to share about the upcoming season.

Zap2it caught up with stars Chloe Bennet, Clark Gregg, Elizabeth Henstridge and Luke Mitchell at ABC’s 2015 summer TV press tour party and got them to spill on the “big” time jump after Season 2, what happened to Simmons and how big a role Hydra has to play.

Also learned along the way: Bennet broke her arm filming Season 2’s single take fight scene, Henstridge has big plans for a FitzSimmons kiss and the crew can’t stop calling Daisy Johnson “Skye.” Here’s a breakdown of what’s ahead.

1. There’s going to be a big time jump
A decent amount of time will pass between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3 — so much so that much of Coulson’s SHIELD team will have come to terms with Simmons being missing. All but the obvious member, of course.

“There’s a big time jump. I feel like everyone’s almost come to terms with it in their own way, except for Fitz,” Bennet explains during a small group interview.

Henstridge says, “It’s Fitz’s mission to get Simmons back. It’s a solo mission. What happened was so crazy and there was no trace of her, that what do you do? She disappeared into this rock that goes to liquid sometimes, but we don’t know why and we don’t know when. I think that the whole team has tried and nothing has worked, so at some point you have to go, ‘She’s gone, we have to move on.’ But Fitz refuses to do that. I don’t blame them, but I’m kind of mad. [laughs]”

2. Daisy and Mack are the new dynamic duo
Bennet will be working with Henry Simmons’ character Mack “a lot more” as they become partners trying to track down Inhumans. “We’re a lot more comfortable around each other this year. It’s like Mulder and Scully, it’s really cool,” she says.

Henstridge notes, “Mack’s always been a bit of a skeptic, so him teamed with Daisy’s very interesting because Daisy’s very gung-ho and gives it a try and very ballsy. So their dynamic is really fun. They’ve got very fun scenes together. They play off each other very well.”

Chloe Bennet may play a supernatural character on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but she has an inkling her own body holds some mystical powers as well. “My confidence is apparently attached into my hair,” the actress, 23, tells PEOPLE.

And that emotional connection to her long locks is what had Bennet, in her own words, “s—ting myself for weeks” leading up to a major haircut as she begins filming the new season of the ABC drama.

As her character (formerly known as Skye) begins to embrace her more supernatural side, she will begin to look more and more like the Daisy Johnson of Marvel comic lore.

“The comic book version of Daisy Johnson has very short, Miley Cyrus-esque hair,” explains Bennet. “We wanted to stay true to the comic book character fans love; I wanted to please them but also make sure there was still some movement and length and sexiness in the hair.”

Compromising on a “good cut” with a length that everyone could agree on, Bennet took matters into her own hands by making the first cut last Wednesday.

“It was crazy. I cried a little bit, to be honest, and definitely had some anxiety,” she says. “I should have brought tequila with me. 100 percent.”

But now that she’s gotten used to her shorter look, “I’m in love with it,” she says. “And I think for the character, it is going to be awesome.”
